Chris Carter has announced his candidacy for Circuit Judge, Division 1, 14th Judicial District, which covers Baxter, Boone, Marion and Newton Counties. Carter brings a wide range of courtroom experience to his candidacy. "It has been my goal," he says, "to know the law from as many aspects as I can."

"I have dealt with family court, criminal, civil, real estate, wills, trusts, disputes regarding property or boundaries, probate and corporate cases involving numerous settlements, and jury trials of a wide variety," Carter says. "Along with my work in our Municipal Court systems, I have gone before the Western District of Arkansas Supreme Court and Federal Court. I am especially grateful for having had the opportunity to help establish and then serve in the position of Managing Public Defender in the 14th Judicial District, because making sure that rights of the accused are respected is a vital concept in our system of law.
